Frequently asked questions about IT support

Do you work remotely, or do I need to wait for a visit?
Most requests (updates, configuration, software help, some network issues) I resolve remotely — usually the same day. An on-site visit is mainly needed for physical hardware repair or setting up new network infrastructure.
What if my computer still runs Windows 10?
This is an increasingly urgent topic — Microsoft ended free support for Windows 10 in October 2025. I'll check whether your hardware qualifies for a free upgrade to Windows 11, and if not, advise whether replacing the hardware or a paid ESU programme makes more sense for the transition period.
How quickly do you respond to an outage?
It depends on the plan: Bronze has a response time of up to 24h on business days, Silver up to 8h, and Gold — priority, up to 4h, with on-site visits included within Dobre Miasto and the surrounding area. Outside a subscription, I try to respond as quickly as possible, but without a time guarantee.
Do you handle the whole website — hosting, domain?
Yes. I can handle the entire scope: registering or transferring a domain, hosting, building the site, and its ongoing upkeep (updates, small changes, monitoring) — as one consistent point of contact instead of several vendors.
Do you also help individuals, or only businesses?
I focus mainly on businesses, but I also take on individual hardware repairs and configuration help for private clients — message or call and I'll let you know if I can help.

What's changing in IT and cybersecurity regulation

Three real developments that may affect your business, whether you have an IT department or one person handling it on the side.

NIS2 implementation act · from 3 Apr 2026

New cybersecurity duties — no longer just for large companies

On 19 February 2026 Poland's President signed an amendment to the National Cybersecurity System Act implementing the EU's NIS2 directive. It covers not only large organisations but also some medium-sized businesses and smaller entities in their supply chains. Fines reach 10–20 million EUR per company, and board members face personal liability of up to 600% of their monthly salary for supervisory failures. Incidents must be reported within 24 hours.

Industry reports · 2026

Ransomware hits small businesses harder than large ones

According to the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, ransomware accounts for as much as 88% of security breaches at small and medium businesses — compared with 39% at large organisations. Attacks increasingly start in the evening, on weekends, or over holidays, to slow down an IT team's response. Basic protection (backups, updates, MFA) remains the most effective and cheapest line of defence.

Microsoft · support ended 14 Oct 2025

Windows 10 is no longer receiving security updates

Microsoft ended free support for Windows 10 in October 2025. The free consumer ESU programme was extended to October 2027, but it doesn't cover domain-joined business computers — those require paid ESU. Even so, StatCounter data shows as many as 40–50% of computers at small and medium Polish businesses are still running Windows 10 without security patches.
